Happy New Year everyone!
2014 is starting out so well! Last night I danced with new and old friends for what was probably hours & the guest bedroom I slept in featured great pillows, a door to a balcony, aaand an electric blanket! When I woke up, I was offered coffee, cake, and the best vegetarian black eyed peas I’ve ever tasted — mostly because never imagined black eyed peas without bacon could be worthwhile at all… this year has some high standards to live up to and I have faith that it will : )
Driving home, I thought about how well things are going and about how much I miss my life in Chicago and, more than that, how I miss being in such close physical proximity to so many good friends. I almost (*almost*) had sentimental feelings about walking through grey slush. #lol
19 hours ago my lovely friend and fellow chicago ex-pat, Laura J. Friedman (http://cybercrimefoamparty.tumblr.com), posted this image on facebook “as a tip to my hometown where the Eames family filmed their video of the same name. Chicago, LSD, lakeside, micros and macros!”
Reminds me of a time I walked to the MCA in the rain, found myself ripping apart denim with my hands in the 12 x 12 gallery before walking to the third floor where, exhausted, I found a bean bag chair to sit in and stared at at a giant Sarah Sze installation for a while.
